About
Linda Tilden is a found-object artist who has spent more than 15 years developing her practice in assemblage. She finds purpose in cast-off treasures, believing they are worthy of a second life. By gathering both complementary and contrasting objects—each one nostalgic, forgotten, or discarded—she creates new connections and narratives, giving these fragments renewed meaning and intention.
Troubled by the pervasiveness of disposability in modern culture, Linda is driven to rescue and reassemble these overlooked pieces. Her work thoughtfully navigates the delicate balance between preservation and excess, remaining mindful of the fine line between offering salvation and hoarding. Through her art, she adds her voice to the broader community of mixed-media assemblage artists, where each reimagined object becomes part of her personal visual language.
Linda credits many for inspiring and supporting her journey, especially those who, when asked, “Are you going to throw that away?” simply answered, “Yes.”
