About
Kim Brandon-Watson is a California painter who grew up in the surf and beach culture of the South Bay and never really left. Trained in Illustration at Art Center College of Design and seasoned through two decades leading a multimedia firm serving Fortune 500 clients, she brought that same visual discipline and storytelling instinct to fine art — and never looked back. Her work spans oils, acrylics, and watercolor, moving fluidly between mediums depending on where the light takes her. Kim’s paintings are built on bold color, strong light, and the emotional pull of a moment just before it disappears. Whether she’s painting the coast she grew up on, a figure caught in the California sun, or the shores of the Hamptons, she finds the feeling first. Her work is in the permanent collection at Montage Laguna Beach, and she exhibits at Laguna Art-A-Fair and the Hamptons International Fine Art Fair. She is also published in AcrylicWorks — Best of Acrylics, an international publication by North Light Books.
“I paint the moments we almost miss — the ones we feel more than remember. Standing before one of my paintings, I hope you don’t just observe the moment — you step into it”
