Based in Huntington Beach, BJ’s love of color and appreciation for how light tells a story in the natural world draws her to paint scenes that feature a moment in time, one which makes the viewer feel present in the painting just as she felt while creating it.
Working primarily in oils and pastels, BJ began her fine art career with instruction by local plein air experts but finds her studio time to be more practical for the ability to work at any time, day or night. Recently she began exploring acrylics and watercolors as well and now shows her work n all four media.
Since childhood, her interests extended to dabbling in acrylics, paper crafting and even painting fun and fanciful designs onto bird houses and river rocks. But when the fine art bug finally hit after retirement for a corporate career, she was totally unprepared for how it would transform her life. BJ paints what she loves and loves to share what she’s painted.
